1974 Dead

One of my favorite years of the Grateful Dead is and has always been 1974. Lately, many Streamers have asked for a return to the good old days of the Dead - the stuff that makes them great. This month Shakedown Stream will randomly move around the various '74 shows and feature them. 1974 is famous for the "Phil & Ned" feedback jams between sets, some of the nicest ChinaCat>Riders ever performed, Weather Report Suites, Spanish jam and, more importantly, "The Wall of Sound". Join us this week for our last installment of the 1983 "Help>Slip>Franklin's Tower" theme this month. Our featured show contains one of the finest versions of Help>Slip>Franklin's of the 1983 era. As I have said on Shakedown Stream these past few weeks, 1983 saw the return of this triad song collaboration after being on the shelf since 1977.

I will also continue with more of Phil & Phriends from the Warfield Theatre - 1999.

*We will also pay tribute to Levon Helm who recently passed away after dealing with throat cancer. He was an awesome drummer, singer and rock n roller. The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band did play a few of the Band's songs. Check it out and see where all this takes us on the Stream.
