Gathering of the Vibes

The 17th annual musical event - Gathering of the Vibes - is right around the corner. This event, which has it's roots in the Grateful Dead scene, has proven itself to be quite a popular event. Check out this article >

"While a few drifted everlastingly into the musical wilderness with Garcia’s passing, dedicated Deadheads simply viewed the rock icon’s death as the first night of an extended celestial road trip. And for them, this summer is a time to celebrate the 17th year of the Gathering of the Vibes, July 19-22." Read Article

Dent May Covers Dead

"Back when Dead shows were a thing, the main drag of the parking lot where kind veggie burritos, ganja gooballs, and sundry wares of that ilk were at their highest concentration was called “Shakedown Street.” This was also the name of a song (and album) from the Dead’s blurry cocaine-and-disco era. Today, the track’s in the hands of Oxford, MS ambassador Dent May, who turns in a faithful rendition with a synth sound where Jerry’s iconic auto-wah lick would be. Also, this is a terrific opportunity to call May “Grateful Dent,” so that just happened. Here’s the MP3:" Click Here

$100 Donation - Furthur Tickets!

Throughout the summer, we’ll be offering tickets to see some of your favorite artists, to raise money for Friends of mvyradio, which supports our streaming efforts.

Today, we have several pairs of tickets to Further when it stops at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Thursday, July 5th. This is the only New England stop on the current Further tour, so Deadheads who want to catch Phil and Bobby and the gang will want to jump on this offer.

Donate $100 to Friends of mvyradio and we’ll give you a pair of General Admission tickets to this show. We only have 5 pairs, so please call 508-693-5000 before they run out.

We made these available, starting at 1pm ET today, so call quickly before they are all gone.

I Like Brent

"*Howdy Jer Bear,
Very Cool idea to give choices only by the year. I have a tendency to look at sets I know are coming. It's a hard thing for me to see a date without looking at the way the show looks on paper (Deadbase.com). The song choice as well as their order, only tells a small tale, I enjoy listening to the unknown energy (the real deal). The element of surprise is a Grate element! Thanks for all you do for us!
Since I was told about your Stream, I've listened weekly. I also enjoy the Grate group of folks who gather, share tunes and life's happenings, and of course waking up to sip coffee with the family on the Facebook page. There is a special vibe within' that group, and i'm so Grateful to have stumbled upon it! Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic (complete Shows) radio program, that's geared towards deadheads. (Stanlee Mouse)"

*Thanks for Tossing in some early Brent Years This Week In Our Choices!*

Deadhead donates $500,000

"Scott Brittingham, an investor and philanthropist, attended his first Grateful Dead show when he was 16 years old and soon found himself, like many others, following the band from venue to venue.“\[Their concerts were these] cultural events that always felt so safe and affordable,” comments Brittingham. “The fans would always take you in and take care of you. You can talk about social networks all you want. Forget Facebook; this was the ultimate social network. It was a strongly woven fabric. I only hope every generation of Americans gets something like this.” (Read Article)
