Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.
Our theme for next month starts us off on the right note. It is "A Streamer's Choice!" That's right - the tables have turned from last month's Jer Bear's Choice. Now you are all on the Hot Seat. Your vote will pick the featured show every week in January of 2011. What a perfect way to start the New Year - give the deadicated listeners of Shakedown Stream the ability to direct the Stream. Every week, go to ShakedownStream.blogspot and vote for the Grateful Dead show of your choice. I will put together a group of shows for your voting pleasure from a particular tour. For example, next week select a show from April of '82. The show that receives the most votes by Monday afternoon will be the featured show.

Shakedown Stream this week continues with the Jer Bear's Choice theme. It is an opportunity to look for live Grateful Dead material in those hard to find places on the shelf. I have been choosing live shows that are incomplete and would never make it as a "featured show" on Shakedown Stream. I am clearing the shelf before we start the new year.
Also in the news, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart sat in with Sammy Hagar this last Saturday night for a holiday benefit show in their backyard - Mill Valley, CA.
