The featured show this week on Shakedown Stream will be a double feature. The vote last week was a tie - 34% to 34%. Ergo, we will hear a show from 1969 and 1979. It is only right to play both - a true Streamer's Choice. Last week I spaced out and did not have a featured show with me in the studio, but, then again, it was a tie between Modesto, CA ('69) and Kansas City, MO ('79).
It shall be a Grateful Dead music celebration. There will be plenty of streaming going on. Join us this week for another Stream of Dead
Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.

Send Healing Vibes
Hey Jer Bear,
On December 10th I wrecked badly while riding my bicycle. I have know idea what caused the wreck, but I think it was just user error.
I was found laying face down, unconscious, and bleeding from my head. A passing motorist stopped and called for help. I was life-flighted to the hospital, where I was later told that I had a fractured skull, and 2 fractured vertebrae(C1+C2).
Yesterday I had a follow up visit, and the doctor told me there was no noticeable improvement(after 6 weeks). now I need to get a CT scan, but I'm uninsured, and have no money to pay for it. Everyone keeps telling me that I'm lucky to be alive, but I don't feel that way.
my only request is for prayers, and positive healing vibes from the stream. the stress of the bills, not knowing if I'm going to heal, and watching myself go broke is really gettting me down.
Keep streaming, it gives me something to look forward to every week. Love & hugs brother,
Scott

BTW, if you have a Rueben & Cherise that you feel like playing, I'd love to hear it.

Streaming Oregon
Hello Jerbear
I really Loved your Jan 11 show. Veneta was great. I live in Oregon and I went to that show. It really took me back. But a track you played after the show from 1-16-70 Springer's in Portland really turned me on, I lived about a mile from Springer's and my friends parents owned the place so we were there every weekend. Is there any more from that show - I sure would like to know? I have been listing to your show for about a month now, I love it - it has become part of my routine now and I really can feel the Vibe.
Keep up the great work - Bruce

Feeling the Love
Jer - Bear, Feeling the love 2011!!!
Well thank you for what you do!! Your show has put me back on the team so to speak. The 12/28 show was the warm up while driving up the coast from San Diego to S.F. Listening to the killer Elvin Bishop / Jerry jam that got me pumped up, and ready for the 30/31st New Year’s Shows.
Then these shows were the tapered performance…. What an experience (By the way) the 30th being my birthday ….which was my girlfriends gift to me. The 31st show that included a parade lead by an elephant and a trailing dancing bear, all to be followed by a great countdown to New Years, then into a “we love you” ? A song that I had never herd before!!!!. These shows all left us smiling and happy. Feeling the love, heading further into a New Year.
Then the cool down, your show on 1/4/11 the replaying of some of the NYE music we had just listened to and the Raven all while returning home to San Diego. I just want to say thank you for your time and your show . Double twist when you hit the air.

Streaming Healing Music
Dear Jerbear,
I'm a native Californian, 29 years old, living in New Zealand. I've been listening to your show since November and absolutely love it. Kiwis don't really know who the Dead are, and having this show to tune into really brings a piece of home and our culture back into my heart.
In December, I had what was supposed to be a minor ankle surgery for a very rare disease. I'm a month into recovery, and for the first 15 days I was completely laid up. I really feel I would have lost my mind had it not been for your show. It never ceased to put a smile on my face even during the most tumultuous times of the healing process. I'm a firm believer in a positive mind leads to improved physical healing. The musical therapy has worked wonders and continues to do so. Thanks a bunch and keep up the good
work.
Sincerely, Will

Vote for Cosmic Joy
It is a "A Streamer's Choice" this month. January 2011 offers the deadicated listeners of the Grateful Dead to choose the featured show this week on mvyradio's Shakedown Stream. Vote for one of the four Dead shows from the summer of 1982. The most popular show will magically delight our musical funny bones and scratch our aching hearts with cosmic love music.
What will happen? who knows? Most of the universe is made up of stuff that we've never seen. Crazy, why oh why is so much stuff concealed from us humans? Some say Shakedown Stream has a way of unlocking the forgotten mystic joy bones so we can ride on that Dark Star.
Only way one to find out - click on Shakedown Stream every week and remember what you always knew. Peace - Jer Bear
