There are still new christmas gift ideas for your deadhead loved-ones. Check this out - I just learned of this new coffee table book about Grateful Dead poster art. "The coffee table book tells the story of poster art through the Grateful Dead, which frequently partnered with artists, and offers chronological evolution of the art from the band's beginning in 1965 through Jerry Garcia's death in 1995."

Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.

Streaming Support for MVYRadio
WE started something special here on MVYradio.com. Shakedown Stream has brought together fans of the Grateful Dead -deaheads- across the nation and the world every week. Streamers are coming together again to help save mvyradio.
"I first saw the Dead in 1967, and have
been listening to your stream for about 3 years. While I normally
prefer to just listen to music, your commentary and choice of music each
week is an integral part of the overall experience. You exude the love
and peace which is part of the Dead experience. I was shocked at the
news that my weekly dose of the stream may stop and contributed.
Regardless of what happens, I hope you find a way to continue the stream
as long as you enjoy it, because your energies result not only in the
continuation and expansion of the Dead community, but more important,
the spread of peace and positive vibes throughout the planet. Your
presence in my life and the lives of so many others is wanted so much.
Sending love....
Ilan."

Save MVYRadio
Yes, my dear friends, it is true. WMVY radio sold 92.7fm to WBUR - a public radio station out of Boston. However, the music has not stopped YET! There is hope. If we receive $600,000 in 60 days, MVYradio can stay alive for another year as an internet non-commercial radio station. For us Streamers, this will be an easy switch since we already do Dead radio on the internet.
Peace - Jer Bear

Beluschi & Jerry
Jersey deadheads are some of the rowdiest Dead fans in the world. Jerry and the boys always brought their A game to Jersey. This week, Shakedown Stream continues to pay homage to New Jersey as it rebuilds. Check us out as we stream another Grateful Dead show from Passaic, NJ ... this Dead show has John Belushi (A New Jersey boy) doing cartwheels during a "US Blues" encore.

Jerry Movie
Believe it or not, but a movie about our beloved Jerry Garcia is in the making - read all about it - "It’s been a long strange trip since iconic musician Jerry Garcia passed away in 1995. He is possibly one of the best loved figures in American music via his work with the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band. Director Malcolm Leo, whose work includes the quintessential Elvis documentary This Is Elvis (revered by many as one of the top ten music documentaries of all time) and films on The Beach Boys and Crosby, Stills & Nash, has had an unreleased filmed interview with Garcia from 1987 in his personal archives -- until now." Jersey Dead
The good people and our
fellow deadheads of Jersey, Long Island, and of course New York City
keep getting hit with stormy weather. Even as we speak, a Nor'Easter is
slamming them with wind, snow & rain. This week, the featured show
on Shakedown Stream is another Grateful Dead show from New Jersey -
Passaic, NJ, 1977. Our positive thoughts and prayers go out to those
most affected by Storm Sandy.

Streaming in South Korea
Jer Bear,
> Killer 10/23 show. Just when I think they can't get better, or I think I've found my favorite in the archives, you spin something righteous! I am an engineer currently doing some work with renewable energy and green procurement in South Korea. In June of this year, I was looking to expand my Dead experience and scrolled too far down in ITunes. I stumbled onto the Podcast section, where I found The Shakedown Stream! Since then I have subscribed, and can't wait for your weekly upload. I literally have an Outlook reminder that tells me to go home and listen. I devote the entire evening to the Stream. I'm too young to have ever seen the band live, so maybe I'm not a Dead Head in the purest sense of the word, and I feel obligated to let you know that. However, the music speaks to my soul and helps me carry on.
>Anyway, Jer Bear, The Stream has been a positive, calming force during my time in Korea, where I have been away from my family and my home. Keep a song in your heart, truth in your word, a spring in your step, and carry the torch.
Peace,
Justin
