I would describe the new Relix Book as a coffee table book. It is jam packed with material from the first 30 years of Relix put together chronologically into one historical document - an Archivist's dream. I highly recommend this book as a Christmas gift for your favorite DeadHead friend, cousin, brother, Aunt, or ...whomever. Their memory banks will be jolted into a sweet flashback (all very legal of course). You can order the Relix: The Book here as well as Toni Brown and Ed Munson's new CD State of Mind. You can also listen to part 1 and part 2 of my interview with Toni on mvyradio.com's Shakedown Stream.
Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.

Relix: The Book by Toni Brown
Many of us DeadHeads grew up with Relix magazine. It was an essential way to stay connected with the Grateful Dead scene. Believe it or not, we did not have Facebook to help us communicate with each other or Twitter for us to instantaneously get the set list from the show. As Toni Brown says in her interview on Shakedown Stream, Relix magazine was started as a place for tapers and Deadheads to connect with each other. It was started by fans - for the fans.
