Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.

Happy Birthday Phil!!
How many Rock n' Roll bass players do you know that are 70 years old. How many do you know that are still jamming? Or who are still touring? Unbelievable.
Last night, Phil Lesh & Bobby Weir with their "hot hand" band Furthur celebrated Phil's 70th birthday in San Francisco. They were joined by Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, Jackie Greene & Steve Molitz and John Molo too (Friends of Phil Lesh & Friends). The played all the good tunes. They opened with an acoustic set and then 2 electric sets. It was a New Year's Dead show.
I am proud to be a deadhead. I am proud that my bass player from my favorite band is still doing it and doing it right. Happy Birthday Phil!!!!!!! Peace - Jer Bear
