January's Shakedown Stream will feature a different "Dead Sandwich" every week. What's a "Dead Sandwich"? It's not a kind grilled cheese, but a song into a jam, then jam into a different song, and a jam that leads back into the original tune. Last week we heard Playin' > into a bunch of other songs > Playin'. A psychedelic parlor trick - before you know it, they're back in the tune they started off with. |
Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.
