Shakedown Stream is a weekly Grateful Dead radio/podcast show hosted by Jer Bear. It is 4 to 5 hours in length. The first hour is a mix of old, rare, new, favorite and interesting songs of the Grateful Dead. Then Jer Bear plays a show - in its' entirety - selected from their 30 years run from 1965-1995. Afterwards, some more chestnuts may be played to help listeners ease on out of the Stream.

Save MVY from Jaws
After taking a major hit during the recession, Aritaur Communications,
parent company of Martha’s Vineyard’s WMVY, accepted an offer to sell
the station’s 3,000-watt FM signal to WBUR, which will use it as a
“repeater” station to broadcast its NPR-affiliated programming to the
Cape and islands. The station has launched an effort to raise $600,000
by the end of January to facilitate a transition from a commercial,
airwave radio station to a nonprofit, Internet-based one. Read Boston Globe Article
