Vote for a Streamer's Choice

The Streamer's gather for one last vote for the month of November. It has been a success and good  clean fun. Together, we have picked some sweet shows from Winterland '77, Portland '80, Furthur in New Hampshire & Legion of Mary. This week is another Streamer's Choice. Vote for a show from the selection in the upper right hand corner and see how your vote makes a difference on Shakedown Stream - mvyradio.com's very own Grateful Dead program.

This is my way of giving back to the streamers who consistently support the show every week.

Streaming the Dead in Iraq

I enjoy receiving emails from the listeners of Shakedown Stream. Emails from Streamers in different countries around the globe are especially fun. It is very touching when they come from places I least expect. For example...

"JER BEAR,
JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW IM LISTENING TO YOUR SHOW ALL THE WAY OUT HERE IN IRAQ, I BET THAT'S A FIRST! I DO MY BEST TO GET THE SHOW WHENEVER I HAVE ACCESS TO AN INTERNET SIGNAL LONG ENOUGH TO DOWNLOAD IT. MY FAVORITE DEAD TUNES ARE ALWAYS CHANGING, RIGHT NOW THEY ARE: ALHEA, GDTRFB, WEST LA FADE AWAY, BIG BOSS MAN, SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD, ONE MORE SATURDAY NIGHT, MORNING DEW, BLACK PETER, I'VE BEEN ALL AROUND THIS WORLD, AND
> COMES A TIME. I USUALLY LISTEN TO THE SHOW WHEN I'VE GOT SOME DOWN TIME OUT HERE AND TOTALLY IMMERSE MYSELF IN THE MUSIC, CLEAR MY MIND OF MY CURRENT SURROUNDINGS, AND IMAGINE WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE IT MUST HAVE BEEN TO HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN AT THE SHOW! THE GRATEFUL DEAD ARE A PURE EXAMPLE A GREAT AMERICAN BAND. THE BOYS CREATED SOMETHING THAT COULD NEVER BE DUPLICATED AND WILL LIVE ON FOREVER.
KEEP ON DOIN WHAT YA DO JER BEAR!!!
 GRADY J."

mvyradio Streaming in the Deep Ocean

Hey Now Folks -
Every so often I receive an email from a listener that rocks my soul. I just got one that made me proud and left me stoked. Check it out:

Hey Jer -
Thanks for all the great music, I have a strange story on how I discovered you. I will give you the short version, I have been in the Navy for 17 years and have always been a huge Dead fan. Well before leaving on a 3 month trip, I discovered your podcast ... without even knowing, it was downloading to my IPOD. Well, one day under the water on mission, I was going through my music and found a great ray of sunshine and happiness ... was Shakedown Stream. It had downloaded probably about 20 of your shows ... I was totally stoked!!

Well since that trip, I have done many more underwater adventures and your show always comes along for the ride!! There are not many deadheads in the Navy that I know of so this experience doesn't move them as much as me!! Keep up the great work, and I will be relocating soon and will be finishing up my last few years of service in a new place ... Shakedown Stream will always be with me, just like the Grateful Dead!! The music makes me smile!!
Peace

Right On!! Nothing pleases me more than listeners who take The Stream to far away places and listen to the music play. It is hard to say if going deep under water with The Stream is further away than Outer Mongolia, but it is definitely different. Thanks to everybody who streams Shakedown Stream every week. Peace - Jer Bear
