Late Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia would have turned 70 on August 1, and his longtime band mate Bob Weir will be among the many musicians taking part in a special concert event to commemorate the occasion.
Jambands.com reports that the show, dubbed Move Me Brightly: Celebrating Jerry Garcia's 70th Birthday, will be held August 3 at Weir's TRI Studios in San Rafael, California. The concert also will include performances from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench, Phish bass player Mike Gordon, RatDog/Furthur keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and Chris Robinson Brotherhoodguitarist Neal Casal, among others. More guest stars also are expected to be added to the lineup.
