Product Placement: The Dead Brand

The Grateful Dead's music may end up in a movie or in the background of your favorite TV shows. The Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has signed a deal with Ice Nine Publishing (Grateful Dead's publishing company) that will keep the legacy of their songs in the fabric of our american culture. "Young people may know the name Grateful Dead, but not be as familiar with their music. If you're not putting yourself into relevant areas where you music can be discovered, your music could be lost to the younger generation," says Evan Lamberg, president of UMPG.   1. My kid is into that sub-woofer heavy music like the rest of his generation but be assured that he can identify a Dead psychedelic jam, Jerry lead, cowboy tune, or ballad. Parenting success!
