Playin' Missoula, Montana

The Playing in the Band theme for October has brought us to some sweet shows and some amazing Playin' jams. As we already know, there are over 500 shows to pick from when it comes Grateful Dead shows with Playing in the Band.

This week's featured show takes us to Missoula, Montana 1974. I have always been very fond of this show because I used to have a small part of it on tape for years. Now, we all can enjoy the whole show this week on Shakedown Stream on mvyradio.com.

It is all about the love and we all know how share it on the Stream.

Shakedown Stream: Paris, France

September keeps us shaking and streaming on mvyradio. Our unlimited devotion to the Grateful Dead and our "International Dead" theme this month has stamped our passports a few times. We have traveled to London, Ontario and Cairo, Egypt. This week we journey back to Europe to the beautiful city of Paris - the city of love. They did 7 shows in Europe in 1974; one of their best years.

Dead Poll Results !!

The results of the very first Shakedown Stream poll have been counted and certified. The polltakers chose 1974 as the year "...the Grateful Dead were at their best." The years 1969, 1977 & 1981 each received 20% of the vote while 1974 won easily with 40% of the vote. Interestingly enough, the year 1973 received no votes.

A closer analysis may be needed to reveal exactly why the poll results went the way they did. It may have been due to the heavy rain from last week or that the Shakedown Stream blog was launched for the first time last week. Any conclusions that only 5 people participated in the poll must be discredited and dismissed. "Only 1 in 10,000 come for the show."

Nonetheless, in lieu of these exciting poll results, next week's feature show on Shakedown Stream will be carefully selected from 1974.
